Baldwin Shows Range of Press Accessories and Control Equipment at NEXPO 2003

At NEXPO 2003, Baldwin Technology Company, Inc., presents a variety of Newspaper Grade products and solutions designed to enhance newspaper print quality and improve the economic and environmental efficiency of the newspaper printing process. On display will be the LithoSpray™ spray dampening system with its recently launched internal cleaning system ‚ Constant C, NewsPro Press Protection System (PPS), which was introduced to the market at last year's NEXPO exhibition, and IMPACT® Global blanket cleaning system.

Baldwin's LithoSpray™ spray dampening system is designed for high performance and reliability. The fully enclosed, automatic and contact-less system allows a higher spraying cycle frequency, faster delivery of the precise water volume and uniform dampening of the plate cylinder. The desired dampening level is achieved quickly and as a result, the LithoSpray™ system provides a fast return on investment and savings on water and inks.

To further improve print quality, Baldwin developed Constant C ‚ an internal cleaning system that keeps the LithoSpray™ nozzles clean and free from blockages and helps maintain a uniform water spray. Constant C reduces maintenance requirements of the dampening system by passing an air curtain over the nozzle tip, thus preventing clogging from ink and dust.

The NewsPro web break protection system includes Baldwin's patented Trident Ultrasonic web break detectors. By using sound waves to monitor the web presence, breaks can be detected instantly without adverse effects from dust or ink particles or smearing of the printed image. NewsPro minimizes down time, improves quality and reduces costs associated with maintenance.

IMPACT® Global is the most environmentally sound automatic blanket cleaning technology available today. The self-contained IMPACT® Global system includes compact washing bars, control cabinets with operator's display and PREPAC® supply rolls. PREPAC® wash cloth rolls are impregnated with the precise amount of environmentally-friendly low VOC cleaning agent needed, thus keeping the agent completely contained in the roll, eliminating both the need to spray and handle solvents. IMPACT® also uses water during the cleaning process to entirely eliminate all traces of ink and paper lint residues.
